The Quickporch
Born from Necessity
In late 1991, Steve Mitchell put together what became known as the Quickporch, a redwood deck kit, which was installed on our new manufactured homes.
The Quickporch turned out to be the right product for the fast growing mobile home market. For the next 10 years, we manufactured over twenty thousand of these decks, and installed over half of them in the Denver area. Quickporch sold decks as far away as California, but the vast majority were used here in Colorado. Throughout much of the 1990s, when a factory-built home was set in Colorado, it had a 60% chance of having a Quickporch installed on it.
Stair System
The Quickporch adjustable stair system was developed shortly after the Quickporch itself and was designed to “adjust” to the custom rise-and-run demands of different sites and deliver a consistent rise-per-tread every time. Our stair was a driving force for much of our success and dominant market share in Colorado. Our stair system influenced the building inspector community and become the new standard of acceptance for entry steps into mobile homes in Colorado.
